Introduction to Graduate Programs
Empire State College, a regionally accredited college of the State University of New York (SUNY), is a world leader in educational programs for adult learners. The college’s programs are designed specifically for adult students who have work and family commitments and a desire for stimulating educational opportunities.
The Empire State College School for Graduate Studies offers 15 master’s programs. Additionally, 26 advanced certificate programs are offered which a student can complete alone or in combination with a master’s program. Nine combined bachelor’s/master’s degrees are also offered to highly qualified, current Empire State College students. An additional five are offered in partnership with a variety of SUNY Cobleskill undergraduate programs.

Master of Arts in Teaching in Middle Childhood and Adolescent Education, Master Of Arts in Teaching in Adolescent Special Education, and Master of Education in Adolescent Education Accreditation
Through a process of self-study and independent peer review the Empire State College Teacher Education programs were granted national accreditation through the Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP) for a period of seven years, from December 2019-December 31, 2026.
Master of Business Administration in Business Management
The Empire State College Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Management, which is designed for aspiring and mid-career managers seeking to enhance their analytic, decision-making, and communication skills in complex organizational environments, was granted Accreditation in April of 2013 through the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE) for a period of seven years. The college will seek re-accreditation in December 2020. Please visit the IACBE website for current membership status. This accreditation certifies that the MBA in Business Management has undertaken a rigorous self-evaluation, has undergone a comprehensive, independent peer review, and has demonstrated compliance with IACBE accreditation principles.
The MBA in Business Management program’s concentration in Human Resource Management is recognized by the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) as in complete alignment with the professional competencies outlined by SHRM, accepted globally as the highest professional standard for the practice of human resources.

The curriculum of this advanced certificate is recognized by the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) as in complete alignment with the professional competencies outlined by SHRM, accepted globally as the highest professional standard for the practice of human resources.
Advanced Certificate in Project Management
SUNY Empire State College is recognized as a Registered Education Provider (R.E.P.) by the Project Management Institute (PMI) and meets PMI’s rigorous quality criteria for course content, instructor qualification and instructional design.
